the spot
in 2022, we had the opportunity to acquire this land; we thought that was the hard part.
As of 2024, we’ve removed multiple tons of trash and debris, seven thousand feet of barbed wire, removed invasive plants and reintroduced native plants, opened previously blocked corridors for deer, and strived to ensure the land and species here can breathe equally again. But, we have a lot of work to do.
With your help, we can continue to make strides towards our goal.
We have created this tour to provide additional insights for visitors to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Smith Rock State Park's natural and cultural history as they explore the area on the walking tour.
