The Spot to be since ‘23
A private high-desert Oasis at the edge of Smith Rock.
In 2022, we had the opportunity to acquire this land; we thought that was the hard part.
As of 2026, we’ve removed multiple tons of trash and debris, seven thousand feet of barbed wire, removed invasive plants and reintroduced native plants, opened previously blocked corridors for deer, and strived to ensure the land and species here can breathe equally again. But, we have a lot of work to do.
With your help, we can continue to make strides towards our goal.
Life at The Spot
Quiet when you want it. Adventurous when you don’t.
Mornings start slowly, with coffee - maybe with your pet - desert light and Smith Rock glowing outside the windows. From there, you can hike, climb, explore the property or head into town—or stay exactly where you are.
Afternoons are for the various games like bocce, horseshoes, ping pong, or just a book on the patio and the hot tub. Evenings gather naturally around dinner and the fire pit. Once the sun goes down, the high desert gets properly dark, and Asterisk Observatory opens the sky to planets, nebulae and galaxies far beyond Smith Rock.
There is plenty to do here, but nothing you have to do.
Come for the landscape.
Settle in for the stillness.
